THE I-CARE GROUP

We are a group of clinically-led Optometry Practices based in Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead,  London (Harley Street) and The Midlands, combining clinical excellence with amazing eyewear and the latest spectacle lenses and contact lenses including fully bespoke spectacle frames and lenses. 

I-Care Optometry is a group of privately owned clinically-led Optometry Practices that combine clinical excellence with fashionable, unique and timeless eyewear.

Founded originally by Mrs Margaret Lawrence in 1984, we have been providing professional eye care for our patients throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Greater London and beyond for over thirty six years.

i-Care Optometry now offer consultations in London (Harley Street), Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead and The Midlands with more to come!!

Specialist Clinical Optometrist (Glaucoma & Acute Eye Care)

Brad is currently appointed as a Specialist Clinical Optometrist at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

He qualified from Aston University in July 2012 with first class honours in Optometry. Upon passing all professional qualifying examinations at the first sitting he attained membership of the College of Optometrists in July 2013 and subsequent General Optical Council (GOC) registration in August 2013.

After registration Brad continued in independent practice before finally establishing his own private practice in The Midlands during June 2014.

He was appointed as an Advanced Optometrist at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust in June 2018 with principal clinical responsibilities being complex paediatric and adult refraction, glaucoma and acute eye care. 

The College of Optometrists Professional Certificate in Glaucoma was completed in 2017, Professional Certificate in Paediatric Eye Care in August 2018 and the Professional Certificate in Medical Retina in October 2019.

His specialist clinical interests centre on paediatric eye conditions and vision therapy, dry eye, contact lenses, myopia control and community Ophthalmology.

Most recently Brad became one of the first UK Optometrists that is qualified to perform minor surgical procedures.

Mrs Rekha Gore BSc MCOptom Prof Cert Med Ret

With over seventeen years experience in surgical centres and domiciliary services Mrs Gore holds the College of Optometrists Professional Certificate in Medical Retina and provides excellent levels of care and empathy to her patients. She is a firm favourite with her patients and many insist on seeing her time after time. 

Lesley Stuart Orthoptist & Optometrist, BSc (Hons) Optometry MCOptom,MMedSci ( Orthoptics) HCPC

Lesley has many years of clinical eyecare experience having worked in many NHS eye departments around the UK as a qualified orthoptist.

 

Lesley completed her undergraduate degree in Orthoptics from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1994 and went on to complete a post-graduate Masters in Medical Science in Orthoptics from Sheffield University in 2006. She has worked as an advanced-role orthoptist in various specialist ophthalmological clinics including neuro-ophthalmology and glaucoma. She also completed a post-graduate Masters Level Certificate in Clinical Education in 1998 from Glasgow Caledonian and has been involved in the teaching of trainee Ophthalmologists, orthoptic students and other health care professionals.

 

In 2010 she began working as advanced-role orthoptist working within the glaucoma clinic at Queen Marys Hospital in Sidcup. During this time she was trained by Consultant Ophthalmologist, Mr Saurabh Goyal, and in 2013 she obtained a post-graduate Masters Level Certificate in Glaucoma from City University.

 

She completed the College of Optometrists’ common final examination in Summer 2022 to become a fully qualified optometrist. She graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Optometry from City University, London in June 2021.


Lesley is an Optometry Examiner for The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and she is passionate about bringing her orthoptic knowledge and experience into her daily Optometric practice. She is uniquely dual qualified as a clinically experienced Orthoptist and now Optometrist and now consults from our clinic in Tunbridge Wells.

 

So whether you need a general eye examination, contact lenses, monitoring of a long term condition such as Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension, Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Diabetic Retinopathy or any of our other clinical specialities you will always be welcomed and looked after by the team here at I-Care Optometry.
