ITCHY, GRITTY DRY EYES?
Don't put up with dry eyes anymore, contact us and book an appointment with one of our clinicians in our dry eye clinic for an assessment.
Dry eye disease or MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction) is a common condition that occurs when your eyes do not receive adequate lubrication.
This can be for many reasons, for example, dry eyes may occur if you don't produce enough tears or if you produce poor-quality tears.
This tear instability leads to inflammation and damage of the eye's surface.

Dry eyes often feel uncomfortable. If you have dry eyes, your eyes may sting or burn. They may feel gritty or tired or you may experience fluctuating vision or light sensitivity. Other symptoms include your lids may be difficult to open in the morning or you may have eyelid 'dandruff'...
You may experience dry eyes in certain situations, such as on an airplane, in an air-conditioned room, whilst riding a bike or after looking at a computer screen for a few hours or if you wear contact lenses.

Surgery and dry eyes:-

It's also very important to identify and treat any ocular conditions before eye surgery so if you are thinking of having surgery then you should have a dry eye assessment first to ensure optimum results (it's also worth knowing that Dry Eyes can be a common side effect of eye surgery and that anyone who has had surgery should consider having a dry eye assessment afterwards)...
